We are located at 7, Lal Ghat, and honestly, the view is probably the best part of being here every day. Ganesha & Sons has been around for a long time, and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. Our shop is small and a bit cramped, especially when we get a lot of stuff delivered at once. We have these old wooden cabinets that we’ve used forever, and they still smell like incense and old paper. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s usually a cousin or an uncle sitting in the corner drinking tea. We don’t really do things the modern way; we still write a lot of things down in big ledgers instead of using a computer for everything. The steps outside can get really slippery when it rains, so we have to be careful when we go out. People walking down to the water often stop by just to look around or ask for directions. It’s a slow-paced life here at the ghat. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are and coming to see us. The bells from the temples nearby are a constant sound in the background of our workday. It’s a bit messy, with papers and samples scattered around, but we know where everything is. We just keep things going as they’ve always gone, serving whoever comes through our door.
