Family Foot Care

Our shop is located at 24, Bhoot Mahal on Maldas Street. It’s a narrow lane but it’s always full of life and people walking around looking for deals. We sell shoes for pretty much everyone in the family, from little kids' sandals to sturdy footwear for the elderly. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for many years now, just watching the shoppers go back and forth outside our door. It’s a relatively small space, so the shoe boxes end up piled up pretty high against the walls. You actually have to be a bit careful where you step when you come inside because space is limited. My father was the one who started this business and now we just keep it going as a family. We don’t have those fancy bright lights or polished floors like the big shops in the malls. It’s just us and the rows of shoes. People come here because they know us and we’ve lived in this city forever. Maldas Street is quite famous for clothes, so folks usually end up stopping in for shoes after they finish buying their new outfits. We talk to almost everyone who comes in, mostly just about regular things like local news or how hot the sun is today. Sometimes we don’t have the exact size someone wants, but we usually find something else that fits them okay. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy boxes and showing different pairs all day long. The floor gets a little dusty from the street but we try.
