Dayadam Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit different because we focus on fish. We are based in Oda Sarada, which is in the Girwa area of Udaipur. Laxman Devala is the main contact person here. It’s not what people usually think of when they think of Rajasthan, but we have our ways of making it work. We are a group of locals who decided to get together for fish farming. It’s a lot of work maintaining the ponds and making sure everything is healthy. We aren't a big corporation or anything like that. Just a small office in the village where we manage things. Sometimes the water is an issue, but we figure it out as we go. We don't use big words or have fancy brochures. We just talk to the people who buy the fish and the people who grow them. It’s an honest living. Some days we are out at the sites all day and the office is empty. That's just how it goes when you're working with live animals. We’ve been doing this for a bit now and it’s slowly coming together.
