D Seven Door Foundation

D Seven Door Foundation is set up in Nagaur, right near Hathi Chok. We are at the residence of Narayan Lal, the son of Rameshwar Lal. Using a home-based office makes things a bit more personal and less stiff than a regular commercial building. Hathi Chok is a landmark most people in Nagaur know, so it isn't too hard to give directions to visitors. The house is an older style, which stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the streets outside. We have a dedicated area where we keep all the foundation’s books and our computer. It is usually pretty quiet here, except for the sounds of the neighborhood or the occasional bell from a nearby temple. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who handle everything from answering letters to keeping the accounts in order. It is a humble setup, but it works for what we do. We often sit in the courtyard when we need to discuss things or just take a break from the screens. Life in Nagaur moves at its own speed, and we don't try to fight that. We just take each day as it comes, doing our work and making sure our records are accurate. It is a honest, local way to run things, and it suits us just fine.
