Chandra Marbles

We are out in the Sukher Riico Industrial Area, right on NH-8. Being near the telephone exchange makes it easy to explain where we are to people who haven't visited before. This part of the city is always dusty because of all the stone work going on. We have a large yard where we keep the marble slabs. Most of our day is spent moving heavy things around with the crane or talking to truck drivers who are heading out to other states. It’s a physical job and the sun gets really hot out here on the highway. We have a small office where we keep the records, but mostly we are outside in the yard. The noise from the traffic on NH-8 is something you just get used to after a while. We have been here in Sukher for a long time and have seen the industrial area grow up around us. There are always stacks of marble everywhere you look. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the stone and making sure it’s cut right. It isn't a fancy place, just a working yard with lots of grit and heavy machinery. People stop by to look at the different colors of stone and we just show them what we have in stock at the moment. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of the inventory coming in from the mines. We try to keep the gates open and the area clear for the trucks.
