About Banjara Marble Articles – Building & Construction Material in Udaipur
Our shop is out on the 100 Fit Road in Alipura. You can’t miss it because there are usually big slabs of stone and half-finished statues sitting out front. It’s a dusty place to work, but that’s just the nature of marble. We spend our days cutting, polishing, and carving different stone pieces. Some are for houses, like counters or floors, and some are smaller things like vases or ornaments. The sound of the saws is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. We’ve been at this location for years, and the 100 Fit Road has seen a lot of changes in that time. Most of the people working here have very sore hands by the end of the week. It’s heavy work, moving these stones around. We don't have a polished showroom; you just walk in and see what we’re working on at the moment. There’s a lot of white powder everywhere, covering the floor and our clothes. We talk to customers about what kind of stone they want, and then we just get to it. It’s not a fast process, but marble doesn't like to be rushed anyway. We take pride in just getting the edges right. It’s a local business and we like the people who stop by just to see what we’re making. Sometimes we have to use a crane for the really big pieces which is always an event.
