Balaji Food & Vegetables

Our place is right near the railway station in Veerdholia, over in Tehsil Mavli. Being so close to the station means there’s always people moving around, especially when the trains are due. We get our vegetables and food items sorted out early in the morning. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and making sure everything looks okay on the tables. The dust from the road can be a bit of a bother but we keep cleaning. Most people stopping by are either heading to the station or coming home from it. We don't have any fancy displays. It's just simple wooden crates and some bags. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so things quiet down for a bit before the evening rush starts again. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. Mavli isn't a huge place, so you get to know the faces of the people who walk past every day. Sometimes the train is late and we stay open a bit longer if there are people around. We just deal with whatever the day brings. The produce comes in from different areas and we spend a good chunk of the morning just unloading it all. It’s a basic shop, nothing too special to look at, but we stay busy. It’s just how we earn a living here by the tracks and we've been doing it like this for years.
