Bajrang Dairy

Our day at Bajrang Dairy starts way before the sun is even up. We are located at Kamlawadi 35, which is a quiet enough spot until the milk trucks start arriving. We have to get the big cans inside and start the cooling process. Everything has to be cleaned constantly because that’s just how it is with milk. You’ll see us scrubbing the floors and the containers with hot water all the time. People from the neighborhood come by with their own stainless steel jugs to get their daily supply. We also make curd and sometimes paneer if we have enough extra milk. The smell of fresh milk is something you just get used to after a while. It’s hard on the back, lifting those heavy cans every single morning. We don’t have a fancy storefront, just the counters and the big refrigerators humming in the background. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to scramble to keep things cold. It’s a lot of work but it’s a steady life. We know most of our customers by their names and how much they usually buy. In the evenings, things slow down a bit after the tea-time rush. We just focus on keeping the product fresh and the shop clean. It’s a basic business but it keeps the whole street going with their morning chai. We usually lock up once the last bit of milk is gone and the counters are wiped.
