Badnorslates

Our business, Badnorslates, is actually based out of 301-Akshans Apartment on Roopsagar Road. It is right near the Jain Temple, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us. Being in an apartment building means things are a bit different than a traditional shop. We use the space for our paperwork and for meeting people when they want to talk about slate. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the temple or just moving through the neighborhood. We have been here for some time and the neighbors know us. It is not a place where we keep huge piles of stone—that happens elsewhere—but this is where the heart of the business is. We have a few desks set up and samples of the slates scattered around. Sometimes the light in the afternoon is quite nice coming through the windows. It feels more like a home office than a corporate headquarters. We don't have a big lobby or a receptionist. Usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone or checking the emails. We keep it low-key and simple. Roopsagar Road has its own rhythm, and we have just become part of it over the years. We handle our orders from here and make sure the logistics are sorted out. It’s a practical way to work without all the extra noise of a big industrial yard right at our doorstep every single day, and it seems to suit us just fine.
