Alokah Art is inside the Shree Krishan Complex. We are in the Babajiki Badi Puda area. The complex is a bit older, and our space is filled with all sorts of things we’ve been working on. It’s not just one thing here. We call it art because that’s the easiest way to describe the mix of items we create. The walls have sketches pinned to them, and the floor is usually covered in some kind of material, whether it’s wood dust or paint spills. It’s a creative space, which means it’s never really tidy. Finding the complex can be a bit tricky if you aren't from around here, but once you’re in Babajiki Badi Puda, you just ask for the art shop. We don’t have a big corporate mission. We just like making things that look nice or serve a purpose. Some days we spend hours just looking at a piece of wood trying to decide what it should be. Other days we are productive and get a lot done. It’s a slow process and we don’t like to rush it. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the designs. It’s a small operation and we like it that way. No big goals, just keeping the shop open and making art that feels right to us. That is basically the whole story of this place.
