Ajanta Paints & Hardware

You can find us at 260 Bapu Bazar. This is a very crowded street, so our shop is always surrounded by a lot of energy and people. We have been selling paints and hardware here for a long time. The space inside is narrow but deep, packed with all sorts of things from floor to ceiling. We have to use a ladder quite often to reach the stuff on the top shelves. It is a bit of a workout. Bapu Bazar is known for its shopping, so we get a lot of walk-in traffic. People often stop in just to ask for directions or to buy a small tin of paint for a craft project. We do not mind. We keep the paint mixing machine near the front so people can see the colors being made. It is a bit messy sometimes, with drips on the counter, but that is just part of the paint business. We do not have a lot of time for fancy talk. We just listen to what the customer wants, find it in the back, and get it ready. The overhead lights flicker a bit, and the fan makes a clicking sound, but we have gotten used to it. It is just our daily life here in the bazar. We open up when the rest of the market does and stay until the street lights come on. Sometimes it is so busy we forget to eat lunch until four.
