V.A.S. Palappa Nadar Sons

Our business, V.A.S. Palappa Nadar Sons, is located at 20, V.E. Road. This is an old part of town, and the building has been here for a long time. You can tell by the thick walls and the way the windows are set. We have a lot of history in this spot. The front of the shop is where we see most people who stop by. Behind that is where we keep all the stock stacked up high towards the ceiling. It is a bit dark in the back, so we have to use lamps even during the day. V.E. Road is a narrow street and it gets very crowded with shoppers and carts. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this block, and we often chat outside when things are slow. There is no air conditioning here, just a few old ceiling fans that hum all day long. We keep our ledgers and accounts in a heavy wooden desk that has been in the family for decades. It is a simple way of working. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to get the job done. Our days start early with the opening of the shutters and end when the sun goes down. It is hard work, standing on your feet a lot, but it is what we know. We just focus on being honest with the people who come in and making sure they get what they need without any fuss or trouble.
