Our place is located in the New Salt Colony area of Tuticorin. The address is 4B/56-1. Being near the coast, you can usually smell the salt in the air. Srivatsaa Foods is the name on our registration papers, and we’ve been operating out of this part of Thoothukudi for some time now. The pin code is 628003. It’s a practical spot for us. We have a warehouse area and a small office space carved out in the front. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the road, so we are always wiping down the desks. Most of our day is spent checking on shipments and making sure the bags are sealed right. We aren't a big operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who’ve known each other for years. We usually have tea together around eleven. The office is full of calendars and old ledgers. We don’t use many high-tech gadgets, just what we need to get the work done. The trucks come in early in the morning, and that’s when it’s most hectic. By the afternoon, things slow down a bit. We like the rhythm of it. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families in the evening like anyone else.
