Sree Alagumalayan Steels

Our shop, Sree Alagumalayan Steels, is sitting at number 245 on Ramamoorthy Road in Sivagami Puram. It is a busy street and there is always something going on outside our front door. We spend our days surrounded by stacks of steel and the sound of the cutter. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us making sure people get what they need for their building projects. The dust from the road and the metal shavings mean we are constantly sweeping up, but that’s just how a steel yard is. We’ve been in Sivagami Puram for some time now and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit. More shops have opened up along Ramamoorthy Road, but the vibe is still the same. We aren't corporate people with suits; we wear work clothes and get our hands dirty. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is tough, but we keep at it. People know us as the place to go when you need a specific length of steel or just some advice on a project. We don't have a polished way of speaking or a fancy office. It’s just a warehouse and a small desk where we do the paperwork. We like it this way. It’s honest and it keeps us busy. If you are ever on Ramamoorthy Road, you will see us right there at 245.
