Sahayamatha Salterns Private Limited

Down here at 13-A/1 on Pillaiyar Koil Street, things move at their own pace. Sahayamatha Salterns has been part of the Meenakshipuram West landscape for some time. Working with salt isn't exactly a clean or easy job, but it’s what we do. The office is tucked away near the temple street, so we hear the bells and the local traffic all day long. It's a modest setup. We don't have big glass walls or expensive furniture. Mostly, it's just desks piled with papers and the sound of the ceiling fan clicking. Our team is small and most of us have been around for years. We spend a lot of time coordinating between the pans and the transport trucks. Meenakshipuram gets quite hot, which I guess is good for the salt, but it makes the afternoons a bit sluggish. We usually have tea together in the late afternoon to keep going. We don't really do much advertising because people around here already know who we are and where to find us. If a customer walks in, they usually just pull up a chair and talk. There’s no formal waiting room or anything like that. We just try to get the bags loaded and the accounts settled without too much fuss. Sometimes the truck drivers stay for a bit to chat about the roads. It’s hard work, especially when the weather doesn't cooperate, but we've managed to keep things running. It’s just a local business trying to do right.
