Riya Colors

At number 33 in Sinnamani Nagar, Riya Colors has been part of the Millerpuram area for a good while now. Over the years, the shop has become a bit of a landmark for people looking for specific dyes. Though the building used to be something else, we’ve converted it into a functional workspace for our color business. Near the mixing area, you can see splashes of different dyes on the floor and walls. When you’re working with pigments all day, keeping the place perfectly clean is pretty much impossible. Instead of a corporate office, we just have a straightforward shop with heavy wooden shelves for our stock. Most of the people who come in are locals or small business owners from around the neighborhood. Checking the quality of the batches and labeling the containers takes up most of our time. Sometimes the sink stays stained a deep purple or bright red for weeks at a time. Because the light in the morning is so good, we try to get most of our color matching done early. Usually, it’s just me and a couple of helpers sitting on stools and talking while we work. In our corner of Sinnamani Nagar, we are happy to keep things small and manageable. We don't worry about expansion, we just focus on the orders we have in front of us. It is a quiet way to spend the day.
