Junior-Geologist

Our place is at 21 Gopal Samy Street in the Mattakadai area of Tuticorin. We’ve been here at this address for quite some time now. As a Junior-Geologist, the work usually involves a lot of dirt, rocks, and maps. We spend a good chunk of our time out in the field looking at the ground and trying to figure out what’s underneath. When we aren't out, we are back at the office on Gopal Samy Street writing up what we found. Tuticorin is a coastal place, so the salt air is always around us. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some shelves for samples and a sturdy desk for the maps. We don't use any fancy sales pitches. We just provide the data people need for their construction or mining projects. It’s quiet work for the most part. Sometimes we get a bit of mud on the floor when we come back from a site visit. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know our way around a soil sample. People find us because we’ve been in Mattakadai long enough for everyone to know the name. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure the geological reports are accurate. It’s a lot of patience and looking closely at things most people just walk over. That’s the job, really.
