Holycross Engg. College

Holycross Engg. College is situated right out on the Srivaikuntam Vagaikulam Express Road. If you’re driving through Thoothukudi, you’ve probably seen our sign from the road. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but being out on the express road makes it easier for the buses to get in and out. Engineering colleges involve a lot of equipment and labs, so we spend a good chunk of our day making sure everything is plugged in and working right. The 628851 area is where we've set up shop. It gets quite windy out here sometimes. We have a mix of staff who have been here for years and some newer faces too. The buildings are functional—nothing too flashy, just concrete and classrooms. We deal with a lot of paperwork and technical stuff every single day. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Students are always coming by the office with questions about their exams or projects. We try to help them out as quickly as we can, though things get backed up during finals week. There’s a lot of walking between the different blocks, so we all get our steps in. We just keep things running as best as we can, making sure the labs are ready for the next batch of students. It’s just a regular college trying to do right by the people here in Tamil Nadu. We focus on the work and let the rest take care of itself.
