Friends Construction

Friends Construction is based out of No 42/7, Sethupathai Road, right by the Tuticorin Central Bus Stand. It’s a very busy part of Thoothukudi, so there’s always noise from the buses and the people moving about. We are near Vattakovil, which is a landmark everyone knows around here. We started this business as a group of friends who grew up in the same neighborhood. We wanted to work for ourselves instead of for some big firm. We do mostly masonry and basic building work. The coastal air here means we have to be careful with the metal and the paint we use, otherwise, everything rusts in a year. The office is a simple room where we keep our records and a few plastic chairs. It gets very hot in Tuticorin, so we usually have the fan going full blast. We aren't corporate people. We wear our work clothes and we aren't afraid to get our hands dirty on the job site. Most of our days are spent coordinating with the labor and making sure the bricks are being laid straight. We don’t have a big website or a fancy logo. People just know us because we’ve been around the bus stand area for so long. We just do honest work and try to get home before it gets too dark.
