Flag Bricks

We are out at the Tuticorin Co.Op.Industrial Estate in Korampallam. Flag Bricks is at 14-A. It’s a tough, hot job making bricks all day long. We spend a lot of our time outside or under the shed. The ground around here is usually red from the clay and dust. We aren't sitting in some air-conditioned office. We are moving heavy loads and making sure the kilns are at the right temperature. It’s a simple business but it takes a lot of physical effort. We’ve been here for years, and the estate has become like a second home to all of us. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy things. We just make bricks and sell them to people who need them for building houses and walls. Sometimes the weather makes things really difficult, but we manage to get by. You can find us here most days, just getting on with it. It’s hard on the back, but it’s honest work that we understand. We take pride in the bricks being strong and reliable. That’s what matters most to us at the end of the day. It’s not a fancy life, but we like the community in the industrial estate. We all know each other and help out when needed. We just keep the production going as best as we can. It’s what we know how to do, and we do it well.
