The Sand Corporation

The Sand Corporation is situated over at the Iem Department area on Sit Bh Road. It’s a dusty place, as you can probably guess from the name of what we do. There are always trucks coming in and out, dumping loads of sand and gravel. Sit Bh Road stays pretty busy with construction vehicles, so it can be a bit of a scramble during the peak hours. Our office is just a simple setup where we keep the logs and talk to the drivers. There’s usually a thin layer of sand on everything no matter how much we sweep. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually take a break then. We don’t do any fancy marketing or have a glossy brochure. People just know we are here when they need materials for their building projects. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking the weight of the loads. Sometimes the rain makes things messy and the trucks get stuck, which is always a headache to deal with. We just get on with it and try to stay on schedule as much as the weather allows. It’s a straightforward business with no frills, just hard work and a lot of grit, literally. We spend most of our time out in the yard rather than sitting behind a desk. It’s a rough environment but we are used to it by now.
