Muzammil Lathe Work Shop

Muzammil Lathe Work Shop is over at 4-9-31 in Hosahalli. It is a small place, but we manage to fit a lot of work inside. The lathe is the heart of the shop, and it’s almost always running from the time we open until we lock up at night. There is a constant thin spray of coolant and the sound of metal being shaved away. Hosahalli is where we’ve set down our roots, and we’ve gotten to know most of the people who live nearby. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are. The shop has that old-school smell of grease and iron that never really goes away. We keep our tools on a wooden board with outlines drawn so we know where everything goes, though half the time they are just sitting on the lathe bed. It can get pretty lonely working the machine for hours, but there is always someone popping in to chat or ask about a repair. We deal with a lot of tractor parts and irrigation pipes that need new threads. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, and we usually go home with oil under our fingernails. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local lathe shop doing our part to keep things moving in this little corner of the world.
