Dr. Thammaiah Hosptial

If you head down Belagumba Road and look for the TUDA office, you’ll find Dr. Thammaiah Hosptial right next to it. It’s a handy location because everyone knows where the government office is, so we don’t have to give many directions. The building has been here for a good bit of time, and it shows in some of the corners and the way the stairs are worn down. We aren’t trying to be a five-star facility. This is a place where people come when they have a problem and want someone to take a look at it without a lot of complications. The waiting area is usually full of people from the nearby villages and the edges of town. It gets a bit dusty because of the road work that seems to happen every few months, but we try to keep it as clean as we can. The doctors and the nurses here are just regular people who live in the community. We talk to the patients like they are our own family, sometimes even scolding them if they haven't been taking care of themselves. There is no corporate manual telling us how to speak. We just say what needs to be said. The days are usually long, and by the time we close up, the streetlights on Belagumba Road are already flickering on. It’s just a steady, local life we lead here.
