Vinayaka Hospital 1St Main

Our spot is on 1St Main in Ashokanagar. It’s a decent neighborhood and Vinayaka Hospital fits right in with the other buildings on the block. The street isn't too wide, so things can get a bit cramped when several people arrive at once. I usually get here before the sun is fully up to open the doors. The smell of disinfectant is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a small hospital, nothing like the giant ones across town. We have a few rooms and a waiting area that always seems to have one chair that wobbles. I keep meaning to fix that chair. The nurses are usually busy chatting with the patients or filling out the logbooks. We still use a lot of paper here because it’s easier than the computers sometimes. People from Ashokanagar know us as the local place to go when they aren't feeling well. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or a fancy lobby. It is just a desk and a person waiting to help you. The day goes by in a blur of blood pressure checks and writing prescriptions. By the time evening rolls around, I’m usually tired but it feels good to have helped the folks who stopped by. We just do what we can with what we have, day after day.
