Srs Alloys Private Limited is out in the Hirehalli Industrial Area. It’s a busy place with a lot of trucks coming in and out. We handle alloys here, which involves a lot of melting and mixing different metals to get what the customer wants. The furnace is basically the heart of the place. It’s always running, and the heat can be quite something during the peak of the day. We have been at plot 43 for a while now. The yard is usually filled with bags of raw materials and stacks of finished ingots waiting to be loaded onto a lorry. We aren't a big company with many departments. It’s just us doing the daily work of melting and casting. Sometimes the batches don't come out exactly right on the first try, so we have to adjust the mix and go again. That's just how metallurgy is. It’s not a perfect science every single time. Our workers are local people from around Hirehalli and nearby villages. They are used to the heavy lifting and the dirty environment. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we are checking the latest metal prices or sending out an invoice. Mostly, we are just busy with the physical work of the foundry. It’s a simple life, focused on the metal and making sure we meet our delivery dates without too much fuss. There is always a lot to do and the days go by pretty fast when the furnace is on.
