You can find Mahadeva Manjunatha Chits at number 191, Pranavam. We are on the 2nd Bharani Park road in the Gokul Extension area, 2nd Stage, here in Tumkur. The office is basically a ground floor space in a residential-looking building. It’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for the sign. We handle chit funds for the local neighborhood. Most of our members are people who live within walking distance. We’ve got a few desks pushed together and some benches for people to sit on while they wait. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We talk about the weather or local news while we handle the paperwork. Tumkur is a growing place, but this little corner of Gokul Extension stays pretty quiet. We do all the entries by hand mostly, keeping the books organized as best as we can. It’s a lot of responsibility, so we take the work seriously even if we don’t act like corporate bosses. We aren’t big on fancy decorations or expensive office gear. We just have what we need to get the job done. Sometimes we stay late when it’s auction time, but usually, we wrap up when the sun goes down. It’s just us, the members, and the monthly cycles of the chits. We like the pace of it and being part of the town. There is always a pot of tea ready if someone needs a break while sorting their papers.
