Hoysala Tool Room

Down here in Tumkur, we run the Hoysala Tool Room. It’s a local operation, and you can find us by looking for S/O Narasihiah. We’re deep in Karnataka, 572104, away from the big city noise of Bangalore, which is fine by us. The tool room is where all the actual labor happens. It’s noisy, it’s a bit greasy, and there’s always the sound of machines running in the background while we try to talk. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We make tools and fix things. That’s about it. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands for years and they know their way around the equipment. We don’t have a fancy website or a front desk person to greet you when you arrive. Usually, you just walk in and find someone who isn't too busy with a lathe or a drill to talk to you. The air in Tumkur is a bit different, and we like the pace here in India. It’s a bit slower, which lets us focus on the details of the tools we're working on without feeling rushed. We’ve built a bit of a reputation among the locals just by being here and doing the work consistently. If something breaks or someone needs a specific part made, they usually find their way to us. We don’t do big promotions. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been at this same spot for a long time. It’s a simple life, working with metal, but it’s what we know.
