Varad Kanchan College

Barshi Naka is a landmark everyone in Osmanabad knows. Our college is located right there, making it easy for students to find us whether they are coming from the city center or the villages nearby. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We have classrooms that get quite warm in the summer, so we keep the windows open for whatever breeze we can get. The students hang around the corridors during breaks, talking about their exams or just gossiping about their friends. We don’t have a fancy canteen, but there are plenty of tea stalls and small shops just outside the gate where everyone goes for a snack. The staff room is usually a bit messy with piles of papers and half-finished tea cups. We try to keep things moving along according to the academic schedule, but sometimes things get delayed, like when the power goes out or there’s a local festival happening. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the library is always a bit cramped, but it has the books people need. It’s a local college for local people, mostly. We see a lot of first-generation students coming through our doors, which is something you notice over time. Life here is slow but steady. We handle the admissions, the lectures, and the exam periods one by one. It’s not a complicated life, just the daily grind of keeping an educational institution running in a place like Osmanabad. It serves the purpose.
