Shriram Ice Cream

Shriram Ice Cream is located right near the post office in Rahata, which is part of the Ahmednagar district. It’s a quiet spot most days, but being near the post office means we see a lot of folks coming and going to do their errands. We’ve been part of this community for a long time now. Our setup is pretty basic. We have the storage area and a small space for customers to stand. We make our ice cream right here in the back. It’s a daily routine of checking the milk and the sugar and getting the consistency right. We don't have a huge menu, just the flavors that everyone in town likes. In a small place like Rahata, everyone knows everyone, so we have to make sure what we sell is decent. We aren't trying to be a big company. We just want to provide something cold for the hot afternoons. The building is older, but it stays cool inside. Sometimes the local kids hang out by the door after school and we chat with them. It's a family-run business and we take it one day at a time. The post office workers often come over for a break when they have a minute. We just keep the freezers humming and the doors open. It’s a simple life here in Ahmednagar and we like it that way. No big plans for the future, just making good ice cream for the neighbors. Sometimes the rain slows us down, but we stay open.
