Power Lift

You can find us at 7-A Madurai Road. We’re really close to the old Ramakrishna Theatre, which most people around here use as a landmark. Being on the main road means it’s always noisy with buses and autos honking throughout the day. Our workshop is where we spend most of our time. It’s filled with heavy parts, chains, and lifting gear. The floors are stained with oil and grease, which is pretty much expected in our line of work. We deal with lifts and heavy machinery parts. It’s physical work. We’re often moving things around with the overhead crane or just by hand when they’re smaller. The heat in the afternoon can be tough, especially when we’re working near the back of the shop where the ventilation isn't great. We have a small desk in the corner for paperwork, but mostly we’re out on the floor. It’s just a few of us running the show. We’ve been here long enough that the neighboring shop owners are all friends. We share a pot of coffee or tea in the mornings and talk about the news. There’s no fancy waiting room for customers, just a couple of plastic chairs if someone needs to sit down while we finish a job. We don't do much advertising at all. People know where we are and what we do. It’s a simple business built on showing up every day and getting the heavy lifting done. We just keep at it.
