Resmi Homoeo Clinic

Resmi Homoeo Clinic is a small place located in Thrissur. It is tucked away in a spot that feels very much like the rest of the town, surrounded by a lot of greenery and the usual humidity you expect in this part of Kerala. The clinic itself is quite modest, just a room or two with shelves lined with those little glass bottles and white packets that are common in homeopathy. There is an old wooden desk where the records are kept in big paper ledgers because we haven't switched everything over to computers yet. The floor is made of simple red oxide tiles that stay cool even when the sun is beating down on the roof outside. People from the nearby houses often drop in, sometimes just to talk or ask a quick question. You can hear the rain hitting the tin roof during the monsoon months, which makes it hard to hear anything else for a while. The chairs in the waiting area are basic plastic ones that have been moved around a thousand times. There is no big sign outside, just a small board that lets people know they have reached the right house. It feels more like visiting a neighbor than going to a medical office. Life moves at a bit of a slower pace here, and the clinic reflects that. Most days involve a lot of sitting and waiting for the afternoon rush when people finish their work and stop by on their way home.
