Sonu Engineering Company

Sonu Engineering Company is based near the pulia on Jhilay Road. We are in Tehsil-Niwai within the Tonk district. The location is right by the bridge, so it is a landmark most people use when they are giving directions. Our workshop is full of tools and metal bits scattered around. It’s a loud place most of the time because of the machines running. We do a lot of repair work and fabrication here. The air usually smells like burnt metal and oil, which is something you get used to after a week or two. We have a small crew and we all know each other pretty well. We spend most of the day in our work clothes, getting our hands dirty. Niwai can get quite hot in the summer, and the workshop feels even hotter then, but we keep the fans going and get through it. People from the surrounding villages often bring in things that need fixing or they want something specific made for their farms or houses. We don't have a big front office, just the workspace where the real stuff happens. It’s a honest way to make a living and we take things one day at a time. The road outside can get busy with tractors and trucks going towards Tonk, but we just stay focused on the bench and our tools.
