Shri Govindam Bricks

We are located in Kakod village, right near the police chowki. If you’re coming through Uniara taluka, you’ll probably see our stacks before you see the sign. Shri Govindam Bricks is just a local operation. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just me and a few workers trying to keep things moving. The police chowki is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. Being in a village like Kakod means we know most of our customers by name. We spend our days dealing with mud, water, and fire. It’s not a clean job, and our clothes definitely show it. We don't have any polished mission statements. We just try to get the bricks ready on time so people can finish their homes. The weather in Uniara can be unpredictable. When it rains, we have to move fast to protect the unbaked bricks from getting ruined. It’s a lot of running around and shouting instructions. We have a small area where we sit and have our lunch, usually just some roti and tea. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy office. Most of the time, I’m just standing out in the yard with a clipboard checking the inventory. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if it’s exhausting. We just take things one day at a time here in Kakod and keep the kiln burning.
