Being in a village means we are right in the middle of where the actual farming happens. We do trading, so we are often the middle link between the local growers and the buyers further away. It’s a lot of driving back and forth on dusty roads. The office is just a plain building in the village, nothing special to look at. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch talking to people who drop by. Trading is mostly about knowing people and knowing who has what. Sometimes the harvest is good, sometimes it isn't, and we just deal with whatever the season brings us. In Tonk-Tonk, things move a bit slower than in the city, and we prefer it that way. We don't use big words or fancy business talk. We just discuss prices, weights, and transport. It can be stressful when the market prices jump around, but that’s just the nature of trading. We have a small team from the local area. Everyone knows everyone else's business, which is just how village life works. We’re just here doing our bit to keep the local trade going, even when the power goes out or the roads get muddy.
