If you walk down Mettu Street in Rettanai, you will find us at number 60. It’s a plain building in a quiet part of Villupuram. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the front. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of chairs and whiteboards. We started this because we saw students in the village needed a place to study after their regular school hours. Usually, the rooms fill up in the late afternoon when the sun starts to go down. We keep the lights on until late evening sometimes. There’s a lot of tea drinking among the staff while we wait for the next batch of students to arrive. It’s not a fancy setup, but it’s a place where work gets done. The floors are concrete and the walls are painted a simple off-white. We deal with a lot of textbooks and old exam papers piled up in the corners. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with bikes, but we just close the door. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the subjects well enough to explain them. Rettanai is a small place, so we know most of the families who send their kids here. It’s just a local coaching spot where we try to help out with the difficult chapters. Nothing more, nothing less than that.
