Sri Mahalakshmi Traders

We are located at 97, Gandhi Road in Arani. If you know Arani, you know that Gandhi Road is one of those streets where there’s always something going on. Our shop isn't very large, but we manage to fit quite a bit inside. We mostly deal in trading, so our days are spent checking the quality of what comes in and negotiating with the people who walk through the door. There’s no air conditioning or anything like that, just a couple of ceiling fans that do their best to move the air around. We usually have a few bags of samples sitting out so people can see what we’ve got. It’s a bit cluttered, to be honest, with stacks of notebooks and old receipts on the counter. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements or shiny signs. Most of our regulars are people we’ve known for years, and they just drop by for a chat and to see what the market is doing. Sometimes the traffic on Gandhi Road makes it hard for deliveries to reach us, so we end up carrying things by hand from the main junction. It’s just the way it is here. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and try to wrap things up by the time the evening market gets crowded. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy and the family fed.
