We are located in Vettuvanam Village, which is part of the Anaikattu Taluk. It is a quiet spot, away from the main highway noises. S K M Organic Food Ltd started as a small idea among a few of us who grew up around here. We spend our days mostly handling bags and checking on the storage areas at number 5. It is dusty work and the fans in the warehouse don't always do much against the midday heat. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, if you call, you just hear the sounds of crates being moved in the background. The village life dictates how we work, so things slow down when there is a local festival or if the rain makes the roads too muddy for the trucks. We focus on getting the food items sorted and sent out without much fuss. There are no big meetings here, just a quick chat over tea in the mornings to decide who is doing what. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the front gate squeaks every time someone comes in. We have been in this same spot for years now. Most of our neighbors are farmers too, so they understand the long hours. We just try to keep things moving and stay honest with the people who buy from us.
