Pandian Store

Pandian Store is located at 25 Nethaji Nagar. We are right in the Madurai South Taluka area, which is usually quite a busy part of town. The shop is a regular local spot where we keep the shelves stocked with things people need for their homes. We open up pretty early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. Most of the day is spent unpacking boxes and putting things away so they are easy to find. It is not a huge place, so we have to use every bit of shelf space we have. There are often bags of grain or crates sitting near the entrance. The floor is just plain concrete and we keep a fan running to deal with the Madurai heat. Neighbors usually stop in to grab a few items and talk for a minute or two about the weather or the local news. We don't have a website or any fancy computer systems. We just write things down and keep track of what we have on hand. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and the people who live around here. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in after school for a snack. It is just a basic shop that has been part of the street for a while. We stay busy enough to keep the doors open every day and make sure we have the staples ready for whoever walks in.
