Mt Spot

If you’re looking for us, we’re located at 45 Kanji, right near Hotel Annamalai. It’s a good spot because everyone knows where the hotel is, so we don't have to give long directions. Mt Spot is a simple place, really. We’ve got a small storefront that we try to keep clean, though the wind around here likes to blow in a bit of grit from the road. Inside, it’s mostly just us and whatever we happen to be working on that day. We don’t have any big corporate backing or a fancy interior designer; we just put up some shelves and brought in a few chairs. The light in the shop is a bit dim in the evenings, but it makes it feel cozy. Most of our day is spent chatting with people who are staying at the hotel or locals walking past on their way somewhere else. We handle a variety of small things, whatever the "spot" needs to be for the person walking through the door. Sometimes it’s busy and we’re rushing around, and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the clock on the wall ticking. We don't have any scripted speeches or anything like that. We just talk to people like they’re our neighbors, because usually, they are. It’s a steady life here in Kanji, and we’re happy just to be the little shop by the hotel where things get done. We just open up, do the work, and close when it is time.
