Ayyappan Store

Ayyappan Store is located at 82, Nethaji Road in the Chinnakadai area of Melachathiram. We are a small local shop, and we’ve been here for quite some time now. The street is always buzzing with people walking by or stopping on their scooters. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of items that people need for their daily lives. It might look a bit disorganized to a stranger, but we know exactly where every single item is kept. From early morning until late at night, we are here serving the people from the neighborhood. We know most of our customers by name, and we often hear about their families and what is going on in their lives. It’s more than just a place to buy things; it’s a spot where people catch up. We don't have fancy scanners or a computer system for our sales. We just write things down or remember them. Sometimes we run out of something popular, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a busy life, standing on your feet all day, but it feels good to be part of the local community. We don't do any advertising or have a website. People just know we are here on Nethaji Road if they need anything. We just keep the doors open and try to be as helpful as we can. During the festival seasons, the shop gets so crowded that people have to wait out on the sidewalk until there is space to enter.
