Our small office is over at No 5 in B.M Nagar. We’re based in Kilpudupakkam, which is part of Cheyyar. It’s a quiet enough area most days. We’ve been running this chit fund because we know how hard it is for people to save on their own sometimes. The 604407 area is where we live and work, so we know most of the families around here. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us handling the money and the ledger entries. It’s a very manual process most of the time. We sit at the table, count the cash, and write out the receipts. It’s not a high-tech setup, but it’s how we’ve always done it. People walk in from the neighborhood to pay their dues or check when the next auction is. We try to keep things simple. There’s no point in making things more complicated than they need to be. B.M Nagar is a decent spot to be located. You can usually find us here during the day. Sometimes we have to head out to meet someone who can’t make it to the office, but usually, we’re at the desk. We don’t do a lot of shouting about what we do. We just keep the books straight and make sure everyone gets their turn when the time comes. It’s just how things work here in Cheyyar. We keep the kettle on and focus on the daily tallying to make sure everything adds up right.
