Ankanvadi Mayam Manmalai

Out in Manmalai, near Chengam, things are pretty quiet compared to the bigger towns. Ankanvadi Mayam Manmalai is a small place where we look after the little ones from the village. Tiruvannamalai is a big district, but our corner is more about the hills and the trees. It’s a simple building, nothing more than what’s needed to keep the rain off and provide a safe spot for the day. We spend a lot of time with the younger children, making sure they have something to eat and a place to play together. The families around here all know each other, so it feels more like a big household than an office or a formal school. We don't have high-tech equipment or anything like that. Mostly, it’s just us, some toys, and the daily routine of the village. The mornings start early when the parents drop their kids off before heading out to work in the fields or the local shops. It can get a bit hectic when everyone arrives at once, but we manage. We’ve been part of this community in Manmalai for a while, and we just keep doing what we do. It’s about being reliable for the neighbors. There isn’t much drama, just the sound of kids playing and the regular chores we have to finish before the sun goes down. It's just a local center helping out where we can.
