We are located at No 18 in the Tass Industrial Estate in Ambattur. Specifically, we are on 2Nd Street within the Sidco Estate area. If you come by this way, you’ll hear us before you see us because the forge and stamping work makes a lot of noise. It’s the kind of sound that you just stop noticing after you’ve worked here for a month. The building is a large shed with high ceilings to let the heat out, though it still gets very warm in the middle of the day. Vijaya Lakshmi Forge And Stamping is a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. We have various hammers and presses that have been the heart of our operations for a long time. There is a lot of heavy metal moving around, so everyone has to be careful and watch where they are walking. We don't have a fancy reception or anything, just a small wooden desk near the entrance where we keep the logbooks and the phone. Most of the time, the owner is out on the floor with the rest of the workers, checking the stamps and making sure the metal is being heated properly. It’s hard work, and we all go home pretty tired, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing the parts stacked up at the end of the shift.
