Venkateshwara Marbles & Granites

We are situated at No Sp-143 within the Ambattur Industrial Estate. This whole area is filled with different factories and busy workshops. At our place, we have huge stacks of marble and granite slabs sitting everywhere you look. It is very heavy and physical work. Most of our day is spent using cranes or manually moving these big stones around the yard. It gets quite dusty, and when the stone cutters are running, the noise is really something. People come down here to look at the different patterns and colors in the natural stone. We don't have a clean or shiny retail store with air conditioning. It is a working yard. You see the stone exactly as it comes in. We get large shipments arriving and then we send them out to various construction sites all over Chennai. The guys working here are usually covered in a layer of stone dust by the end of the shift. We have been here in Ambattur for many years. It is a practical spot for a business like ours because we really need the open space for the inventory. The sun is usually beating down on the yard, especially during the summer months. We drink a lot of water and just keep moving. It is a very simple and direct business. We buy the stone, we keep it safe, and then we sell it to people who need it. There isn't any magic to what we do. We just make sure the slabs are handled carefully.
