Velammal Nagar is where we spend our days, right along the Ambattur Redhills Road in Puzhal. It is a busy stretch of road, especially during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get to work or school. The college is easy enough to spot if you are driving past, though the traffic can sometimes make it hard to turn in. We have various classrooms and computer labs spread across the building. It’s a lot of management and computer studies happening at once. The students are always moving around between floors, carrying their bags and talking about their next class. You can hear the hum of the computers if you walk through the hallways during a session. We don't have much in the way of fancy decorations, just the usual boards and desks that you’d expect in a place like this. The weather in Puzhal can get quite humid, so we keep the windows open when there’s a breeze. Sometimes the dust from the road comes in, but that is just part of being in this location. We have a routine that we follow, starting early and staying until the evening when the sun starts to go down over the road. It’s a plain, functional space where people come to learn things that might help them later on. We see a lot of different faces every year, each person just trying to figure out their own path while they are here.
