Vasan Flour Mill

Vasan Flour Mill is located at No:110-C/3 on the Main Road in Thuvarangadu. It’s a place that’s always got a bit of white dust on everything because of the flour we grind. We’ve been here on the main road for a long time, and the sound of the mill is pretty much a constant thing during the day. People bring their grains to us, or they buy what we’ve already ground. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. The machines are the most important part of the place, and we spend a lot of time maintaining them so they don’t stop. The floor is always a bit slippery with grain husks, so you have to watch your step. We’re just a small crew here, mostly family and a couple of neighbors. Thuvarangadu is a small place, so we know most of our customers by name. It’s not the kind of job that makes you rich, but it keeps us busy and provides a service to the village. We open early in the morning and stay open until the sun goes down. There’s no big corporate strategy here. We just grind the flour, bag it, and talk to whoever comes in to pick up their order. It’s practical, honest work that we’ve been doing for as long as I can remember, and we don't plan on changing our way of doing things.
