Tempel Precision Metal Products

Down in 7, Gudapakkam Village, the air is a bit quieter than in the middle of town. That is where Tempel Precision Metal Products is based, right in the Puduchatram Post area of Poonamallee Taluk. Our workshop is filled with the sound of metal being worked on, which is a sharp contrast to the village surroundings. We have various machines that take up most of the floor space, leaving just narrow paths to walk through. Everything smells like machine oil and cold steel, which is exactly how we like it. The guys here are used to the precision required for the parts we make, but the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We wear old clothes that don't mind a few sparks or stains. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It is a long commute for some, but the work is steady and the community around here is good. We don't have a big sign out front, just the building where the work happens every day. It is about getting the dimensions right and making sure the finishes are smooth. We keep to ourselves mostly, focusing on the crates that need to be filled by the end of the week. There is always a stray dog or two hanging around the gate, and we usually give them whatever is left of our lunch.
