Sri Ragavendra Florist

Sri Ragavendra Florist is a bit of a surprise because we are in the India Land Tech Park. You wouldn't expect a florist in a big industrial area like Ambattur, but here we are. We are in Tower B on the first floor. The contrast is funny. Outside it's all steel and concrete, but inside our space, it’s full of colors and different scents. It’s a lot of work keeping everything fresh, especially with the heat. We are at Plot No. 14 on the 3Rd Main Road. Most of our morning is spent getting the shipments from the market and trimming the stems. It’s a wet and messy job. We have buckets everywhere. The tech workers from the other floors come down to see us when they need something for a desk or a gift for someone. We aren't a big corporate chain. It’s just us and our flowers. We don't use any fancy software to track things, just a big notebook where we scribble everything down. Sometimes we run out of space and have to use the back of old receipts or scrap paper. It’s a bit chaotic during the wedding season, but we manage to get through it. We like the smell of the lilies best. It covers up the smell of the machinery from the factories nearby. It’s a little green corner in a gray part of the city. We just keep doing what we know and try to keep the petals from wilting too fast.
