Our place is over in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly warehouses and factories. We are at number 76/1. It’s a practical building, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, you can hear the machines running most of the day. There is always a lot of leather around because that’s what we do here. The air has that specific smell of tanned hides which you get used to after a week or so. We have a small team, and everyone knows their job. Some people have been here for years. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive chairs. We'd rather just have tools that work. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance, and we have to go out and help move things along. It’s part of the daily routine. We take our tea breaks together when the heat gets too much in the afternoon. Ambattur can get pretty hot in the summer. We don’t have any big speeches about what we do. We just make the products and ship them out. R. R. Leather Products Pvt. Ltd. is just a group of people working hard in a noisy estate. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work. We try to keep things organized, though things get messy when a big order comes in. We stay until the work is finished.
