Our spot is at 15B/1 in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you’ve ever been to this part of Chennai, you know it’s nothing but warehouses and factories for miles. Isf Industries is just one of those places. We spend most of our time on the shop floor or in the small office area up front. It’s noisy because of the machines and the trucks rumbling past on the estate roads. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. Just some old calendars on the wall and a lot of industrial parts sitting around in bins. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a breather. It’s a lot of dirty hands and heavy lifting, but that’s the nature of the work. We don't use much fancy English here; we just say what needs to be said and get back to the machines. Sometimes the rain floods the road a bit, which makes getting deliveries out a real pain. We’ve been at this for a while now, so we know the routine. It’s not a glamorous job, but the work is consistent. We just make sure the orders are packed right and the quality is what it should be. It’s a straightforward industrial life here in Ambattur. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just parts and labor, day in and day out.
